The Volna Hotel was awarded the Diploma of Yuri Senkevich National Tourism Prize in the nomination «The best four star hotel».

The festive handing over was held in Moscow on September, 27. It was opened by the Head of Federal Tourist Agency Vladimir Strizhalkovskiy who congratulated all guests on their professional holiday International Tourism Day. Y. Cenkevich Prize is a prestigious, authoritative and the only one noncommercial tourism award .The ceremony of rewarding is an important and significant event for all professionals of tourism industry.

The session of the Supreme Council presidium under the chairmanship of V.V. Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, will take place in Nizhny Novgorod.

The most popular chansonnier Patricia Kaas stayed in the best hotel of Nizhny Novgorod – hotel “Volna”.

The French star and all her concert group arrived at “Volna” hotel on March 16th. The General Manager met Patricia with a bouquet of flowers and accompanied the chansonnier to her room. The Suite “Presidential” was prepared for Mss Kaas – the best accommodation for the star in Nizhny Novgorod at all.
Twenty minutes later Patricia and all the musicians had lunch in the hotel restaurant “Chaika”. For starter they ordered beef salad Asiatic style and salad “Nice”, Patricia liked marinated vegetables. As hot and meat dishes Patricia chosen chicken cream-soup and veal “Benjamin” (grilled fillet of veal in a mushroom cream sauce and assorted smoked meat). For dessert Mss Kaas ordered Russian crepes with apple and raisin. Patricia’s pet, small dog Tekila, was always near her owner.
Patricia and all the group highly appreciated the exquisite cuisine and excellent service of “Volna” hotel. The chansonnier let the hotel personnel to make photos together and wrote in the Guest book: “Thank you very much. With kind regards, Patricia Kaas.”

Alla Pougacheva’s first visit in the hotel “Volna” took place in April 2002. She came back three years later. Like the last time the best accommodation suite “Presidential was prepared for the world celebrity. Its interior is made in pastel colours, adorned with ceiling mouldings and exclusive Italian furniture. It consists of five rooms: a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed (200 x 200 sm), a living-room, a working cabinet, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area, two separate bathrooms, a spacious “Jacuzzi”, a big hall and a balcony.
The outstanding singer’s administrator stayed on the same floor in a suite “Business”.
The morning of arrival Alla Borisovna like many other hotel guests paid visit to the restaurant “Burlak” for a buffet breakfast.
As for dinner Primadonna ordered a cream of chicken soup and pike and perch “Castillion”, which is cooked according to a special recipe with adding French white wine and a special set of French spice. It is served with exquisite cream sauce and mushrooms.
The evening of departure the singer left some words of gratitude in a VIP guest book of the hotel for a hearty welcome.

“Deep Purple” in “Volna” Hotel, Nizhny Novgorod



The legendary British group “Deep Purple” gave a concert in Nizhny Novgorod. The hard-rock stars stayed in the four-star hotel “Volna” from 24 till 26 of October 2004. Before and after the concert the musicians visited “Chaika” Restaurant and Piano-bar “Zagreb”, listened to local restaurant artists and highly appreciated their skill especially the play of the violinist-virtuoso. As for the night-bar where each evening you can enjoy music of live piano, Don Airey, the keyboarder of the group, made a duet with the restaurant pianist Arbekov. Being interviewed the stars mentioned that they loved both the restaurant cuisine and the friendly atmosphere.

Up to now the "Volna" hotel is the only hotel in the city, which has successfully gone through all the procedures of Assessment Commitee of Tourism Department of Russian Federation Ministry of Economics according to the Ministry order #197 dated 21.06.2003 and has confirmed the right to be a four star hotel. The certificate is valid for 5 years.
